Our Vision

We envision a future where every person lives in dignity and freedom regardless of ethnicity or their place within a societal system.

Who We Are

We work to restore dignity and freedom to children, women, and men suffering from marginalization, poverty, and discrimination in South Asia. Born into the lowest rung of India’s historically rigid societal system, the people we serve lack access to many of the things most of us take for granted.

We provide access to:

Education

We help build schools and provide scholarships to children to help them attend school.

Healthcare

Through Community Health Workers, we ensure those in need receive access to healthcare.

A Day In The Life

It can be difficult to imagine what it feels like to be marginalized for your ethnicity.

But for nearly 25% of people in India, this is their daily experience.

Imagine that…

You have been injured at your job as a day labourer cleaning streets.

You need treatment at a nearby hospital. Upon arriving, you are turned away because of your rank in your community’s social hierarchy. Suddenly, you are unable to provide for your family.

You are 13 years old but have never stepped foot inside a classroom.

The other families at the school don’t want you to attend because you belong to a different tribal group and are considered unclean. You have no hope of improving your life through education.

You are 15 years old. You know that you are more likely to be trafficked and sold for sex, because of your ethnicity.

You live the next two decades of your life suffering sexual exploitation.

You are 5 years old. Your family is unable to afford mounting medical bills

and you are told that you will be sold to a nearby temple, to provide sexual services to clients when you’re older. Because of your ethnic background, you have always known this would happen to you. The rest of your life consists of providing sexual services to temple visitors.

You meet a Community Health Worker.

She ensures you are connected to health services and receive treatment. You recover and are able to continue providing for your family.

You receive a scholarship to enroll in school.

You attend school and are accepted to university. You fulfill your dream of becoming a small business owner.

You are 15 years old. You live a life of freedom and safety.

Because of an educational scholarship, you attend school, get a good paying job, and raise your children to know their inherent worth and value.

You are 5 years old. Your family needs medical care,

but a Community Health Worker connects them to health services. Medical bills do not accumulate. You attend school and do not fear exploitation.

But now imagine a different future

A future where a community sees dignity in every life. A future where each person lives in freedom, pursuing their hopes and dreams without societal barriers.

When you ensure children and their families receive education and health care, you can change the course of their future.
